Code of Best Practice for Law Commissioners

The code of Best Practice draws on the Treasury model 'Code of Best Practice for Board Members of Public Bodies'.  It takes particular account of the recommendations in the First Report of the Committee on Standards in Public Life.

Protocol between the Lord Chancellor (on behalf of the Government) and the Law Commission

The Lord Chancellor and the Law Commission for England and Wales have agreed a statutory protocol governing how Government departments and the Law Commission should work together on law reform projects.

HM Government Code of Practice on Consultations

The Law Commission is a signatory to the Government Code of Practice on Consultation and we carry out our consultations in accordance with the Code criteria.
